The audit fee is not refundable.
We would rather you read that on the way in than discover it later. This page says why, what you get instead of a refund, and what happens if we are the ones who do not deliver.

The policy
The Salto Audit fee is non-refundable as of the effective date of your engagement agreement (§3.1). That is the clause you sign, and this page does not soften it.
The reason is the shape of the work. The audit is judgment work that starts immediately and happens almost entirely before you see anything: your documents read, your numbers recomputed, both founders' judgment applied. By the time there is something to look at, the cost is already spent. A refund window would mean either pricing that risk into everyone's fee or doing shallower work, and we would rather say no plainly.
We also do not discount the audit (§3.6). Where we waive or reduce a fee we do it in a written rider to the agreement, it applies to that engagement only, and it sets no rate for any future one.
What the fee is
Priced by how many domains you buy, not by which ones.
- $750
- One domain
- $1,500
- Two domains
- $1,950
- All three, the Salto 360
Payment is by ACH bank debit through our payment processor, on the schedule in Schedule A of your agreement (§3.3). The engagement clock starts on the date the first payment is initiated, not the date it settles, so you get the benefit of the earlier date (§3.4).
What you get instead of a refund
Two things, and both are worth more than a refund window would be.
- Fifty percent of the fee you actually paid credits against a Salto Foundation engagement, if you sign one within sixty days of your delivery date (§6.1). The credit is for a Foundation engagement only, has no cash value, cannot be transferred, and expires at sixty days (§§6.2, 6.3).
- You keep the findings either way. They are yours for your own business purposes (§11.1), and plenty of people take the roadmap and run it themselves. Nothing obliges either of us to go further (§6.4).
You can also download everything, the findings and your own uploaded materials both, from your portal for sixty days from delivery (§§7.1, 7.2). Download what you want to keep before it closes; we send a reminder first.
If we do not deliver
If we fail to deliver the findings and hold the review call for reasons that are ours, the agreement obliges us to deliver them. The non-refundable clause is not a licence to keep the fee and walk away. Talk to us first; a firm this size would rather fix it than be right about it.
There is one case where we may terminate and keep the fee: if eight weeks pass from your start date without the findings being delivered and the review call held, for reasons not attributable to us (§4.7). That is the case where the materials never arrive or the call is never scheduled. We give you at least ten days' written notice first, so you have a final chance to finish it.
Our total liability under an engagement is capped at the fee you actually paid (§13.1), and that cap does not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence (§13.3).
Chargebacks, and the better route
If a payment fails, is reversed or is disputed we may suspend work on written notice until it is resolved, every date extends day for day while it is suspended, and you are responsible for any fee the processor charges us as a result (§3.5).
So if something is wrong with a charge, write to us before you dispute it. We read every one of these ourselves and a billing error is the easiest kind of problem we get.
Salto Care and anything after the audit
This page is about the audit fee, because the audit is the only thing anyone buys first. Everything after it, a Foundation build or Salto Care, is scoped, priced and signed separately, and its own agreement sets its own cancellation terms. Care is a choice you make after you already own what we built, and cancelling it means the things that used to arrive on a schedule stop arriving on a schedule. That is the whole consequence.
